Evolution One LP

Evolution One is a private equity fund investing in renewable and clean technologies in South and Southern Africa. The fund was launched in 2008, with SIFEM as one of the main investors alongside CBG, Finnfund and IFC. SIFEM committed USD 8.0 million to the fund on behalf of SECO.

Evolution One focuses on deploying clean technologies across the environment goods and services sector in Southern Africa, making both technology and infrastructure-related investments in the form of equity and equity related instruments. Evolution One invests predominantly in businesses and projects in their expansion stage, with some early stage and start-up investments, and to a lesser extent later stage buy-outs. It focuses on climate change-related investments in clean energy and energy efficiency, augmented by a broader investment mandate across select industry focus areas within the environmental goods and services sectors and sub-sectors.

Inspired Evolution Investment Management (IEIM) is the manager of Evolution One, and comprises of principals from Pan-African Capital Holdings, Alluvia Group, Consensus Business Group and Capital Evolution, operating out of South Africa and with offices in London. IEIM is a black empowered company in accordance with South Africa's BEE guidelines.
