Euroventures Ukraine II
Euroventures Ukraine Fund II (EVU II) is a generalist private equity fund investing primarily in Ukraine and opportunistically in Russia. It was established in 2005 with EBRD and IFC as the largest investors. SIFEM invested USD 5.0 million into the fund.The strategy of EVU II is to maximize returns by targeting young, yet established companies with professional trustworthy management teams, executing sustainable, corruption-resistant business models in rapidly growing industry segments. Early stage and expansion types of transactions are sought in operating companies based primarily in Ukraine and opportunistically in neighboring countries. The fund acquires majority or significant minority equity stakes in its investees.
EVU II is managed by Euroventures Ukraine (EVU), a fund management and advisory services company based in Kiev, Ukraine. Established in 1998, EVU manages several Ukraine-focused private equity funds and investment vehicles.
On September 14, 2006, Euroventures Ukraine Fund I sold its 30% shareholding of the second largest wholesale pharamceutical distributor Laona Limited. Comment by FT.com
