JS Private Equity Fund

The JS Private Equity Fund (JS) is a generalist private equity fund investing in Pakistan. It was launched in 2007, and major investors are ADB, CDC, IFC, and JS Group. SIFEM committed USD 10.0 million to the fund on behalf of SECO.

JS focuses on medium-sized, growth oriented enterprises within Pakistan. The majority of the companies are family-owned, seeking expansion capital and an institutional partner to help them improve corporate governance and make their company attractive for an IPO. The fund primarily invests through convertible instruments. Transactions are structured with standard covenants including put options with the entrepreneurs and tag/drag along rights.

JS is managed by JS Group, one of the largest financial services conglomerates in Pakistan with finance companies ranging from insurance to asset management.
