VenturEast Proactive Fund
The VenturEast Proactive Fund (VPF) is an India-focused, mid-stage growth capital fund targeting small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The fund was launched in 2007 and its investors are Argonaut Ventures, BIO, CDC, IFC and Storebrand Emerging Private Equity Markets. SIFEM joined shortly after the first close with an investment of USD 4.0 million on behalf of SECO.VPF is a standard private equity fund addressing growing SMEs in India with two key distinctive points. The fund focuses on companies in the sub USD 5.0 million space, which has been under-served by traditional private equity. It is expected that the majority of the investments will be in this range. In addition to smaller deal sizes, the fund focuses primarily on growing enterprises located in the southern regions of India. The fund aims to leverage the management team's background in technology/ICT and pharma industry to seek out growing companies operating within those sectors, and help traditional enterprises that can benefit from various technological and logistical improvements.
VPF is managed by VenturEast Fund Advisors, an employee-owned management company. The company has offices in Southern India and a team of Investment Professionals working on multiple India-focused private equity funds.
