Mekong Enterprise Fund II

Mekong Enterprise Fund II (MEF II) is a generalist private equity fund investing in Vietnam, launched in 2006. MEF II is the successor fund of MEF, and SIFEM has invested USD 5.0 million into the fund.

MEF II invests into mature, well managed private companies in Vietnam, targeting companies planning to list on the Vietnamese stock exchange. Typical investment size is USD 4.0 – 6.0 million per transaction. When an investment is made, its lifespan is expected to reach 5 - 7 years. As with MEF, MEF II emphasizes adding significant value to investee companies through post-investment assistance projects, particularly in areas that will contribute to profit growth and improving exit opportunities.

MEF II is managed by Mekong Capital, which was founded in 2001 and manages multiple investment funds in the region. The company has a vast team of investment professionals, and is the largest and most experienced private equity team in Vietnam. Almost all of the senior positions within Mekong Capital are held by Vietnamese, most of whom are also shareholders of Mekong Capital.
