BTS India Private Equity Fund

The BTS Private Equity Fund, is a generalist private equity fund investing in India. The fund was launched in 2006, with SIFEM being one of the initial sponsors alongside ADB and CDC Group. SIFEM committed USD 12.0 million to the fund on behalf of SECO.

The main objective of the fund is to invest in expanding medium sized businesses located in the Indian sub-continent with the intention to earn superior returns on investment over a holding period of 3 - 5 years. The size of investment is to be in the range of USD 3.0 – 5.0 million. The typical portfolio company will be a medium-sized manufacturer or service provider with sound management, a sustainable business model and competitive advantage. Emphasis will be given to expansion financing of established companies that have proven business models and have an earnings track record of at least 3 - 4 years. The fund focuses on high growth sectors with global competencies and addressing booming domestic markets like pharma & life sciences, manufacturing/engineering, IT & IT enabled services, telecom and entertainment.

The fund is managed by BTS Investment Advisors, an independent investment advisor specializing in investing in India. Founded in 1996, BTS has offices in Zurich and Mumbai. Its clients are spread through India and around the world and include banks, institutional investors, private clients and corporates. BTS offers private and public equity investment services, financial advice for cross-border activities between India and Europe and structuring proprietary fund and investment opportunities.
