Aureos Central American Fund
The Aureos Central America Fund L.L.C. (ACAF) is a generalist private equity fund established in 2002. Its main investors are CDC, IFC, IIC, and Norfund. SECO invested USD 5.0 million in ACAF.ACAF invests in private sector enterprises based in Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and the Dominican Republic. The fund follows a multi-sector strategy and provides risk capital for start-ups with a proven business model, management buy-outs, management buy-ins, expansions, rationalizations, restructurings or reorganizations. Investment sizes range USD 2.0 - 5.0 million.
ACAF is managed by Aureos Central America Advisors (Costa Rica) SA, an affiliate of Aureos Capital Limited (Aureos). Aureos was established in 2001 as a joint venture between CDC and Norfund. Today, Aureos has grown to over 100 professionals and raised multiple funds covering Latin America, Asia and sub-Saharan Africa.
